At the Indigenous Idaho Alliance, our mission is to actively resist and challenge colonial oppressive socio-political systems. Since our establishment in 2012, we have been dedicated to upholding the sovereignty of all Indigenous people. Our focus lies in promoting education, community care, awareness, and collaboration as essential pillars for empowerment. We strive to foster a healthy and resilient Indigenous community in Idaho by providing support and resources that address their unique needs. Through our work, we aim to create a future where Indigenous voices are amplified, cultural heritage is celebrated, and collective well-being is prioritized.
Our philosophy is to center cultural rejuvenation and language reclamation as gender-violence prevention and as a much needed community gathering to nurture healing in community. We focus on civic engagement uplifting our old ways of knowing to nurture the interconnectedness of our liberation to the liberation of our non-Native neighbors and nature. Additionally, it is important to Indigenous Idaho Alliance to embody decolonization, sovereignty, and abolition in our transformative work in the community.
